Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a strong and compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) in Lewiston. In this role, you will be responsible for providing direct care and support to 1 male resident with intellectual and developmental disabilities or other special needs. You will also be responsible for administering medications in accordance with state regulations and ensuring the well-being and safety of our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or other special needs.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Administer medications to clients according to prescribed dosages and schedules, ensuring compliance with state regulations and organizational policies.
- Monitor and document clients' health status and medication administration in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist clients with therapeutic and recreational activities, promoting socialization and community integration.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including healthcare professionals, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment for clients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, following established protocols and procedures.
- Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of developmental disabilities and medication administration.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in human services, healthcare, or related field preferred.
- Current certification as a Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) required, CPI and SafetyCare.
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
