What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Technician position at Quality Care Rehab & Autism Center?
Behavior Technician Job Responsibilities:
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Execute individualized treatment plans designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), using evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to support clients with behavioral goals.
- Direct Client Support: Work one-on-one with clients to address challenging behaviors, teach new skills, and reinforce positive behaviors as outlined in the BIP.
- Data Collection: Accurately collect and record data on client progress during sessions, following established protocols to assist the BCBA in monitoring and adjusting interventions.
- Session Support: Assist in preparing materials and setting up environments for therapy sessions to ensure smooth delivery of services.
- Collaboration: Partner with the supervising BCBA, other team members (e.g., OT, PT, SLP, Music Therapy professionals), and clients’ families to maintain consistency in implementing strategies and supporting client needs.
- Maintain Documentation: Complete session notes and other required documentation promptly and accurately, adhering to organizational and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: Prior experience working with children, individuals with developmental disabilities, or in ABA therapy is preferred but not required.
- Availability: Willingness to work afternoons, at least three evenings Monday through Friday until 8:00 PM, and 9:00 – 5:00 on Saturdays.
- Transportation: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between clinic locations in Shelby Township and Clinton Township and provide limited in-home services within Macomb County.
- Skills: Strong communication, patience, and the ability to follow detailed instructions under supervision.
