What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Day Support Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at Quality Care Solutions, Inc?
Looking for team members with strong work ethics and drive to be a part of a quality program serving persons in need. Day Support is a community based service and is 6-8 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Mental Health and Behavioral Health experience preferred.
Mental Health Day Support service is based on the principles of recovery, including equipping people we serve with sills that emphasize self-determination using natural and community supports. The service provides individual intervention that emphasizes employment, emphasizing the “here and now”, providing early intervention, providing a caring environment, practicing dignity and respect, promoting beneficiary choice and involvement in the process. The service emphasizes function and support in real world environments and allowing time for interventions to have an effect over the long term.
This is a part-time position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement direct treatment services in accordance with an individualized service plan and consistent with the agency’s model of care
- Teach a curriculum of skills; social, self-help, independent living, and academic skills.
- Review and monitor the progress of clients in line with their care plan, report, recommend, changes to activities as appropriate.
- Contribute to the high-quality care, support, and activities delivered as planned to the standards of QCS and NC DHHS.
- Assist clients with therapeutic activity on a day-to-day basis to include:
A -Housekeeping, shopping, cooking, use of transportation facilities, money management
B- Personal health care, medication self-management, grooming
C- Social relationships
D- Use of leisure time
E- Educational activities, basic education, and special interest
F- Prevocational activities with the focus on positive work habits, participation in activities, promoting self-worth, purpose, confidence that is not gob specific training.
- Advise and support careers as needed and appropriate. Assisting food choices and decision making that is beneficial to the client.
- Promote and maintain a good standard of care practices within the day supports facility.
- Assist in the daily preparation of the day supports facility to ensure the premises are ready to receive clients safely and in comfort.
- To ensure that clients use provided transportation safely and comfortably.
- Assist clients with personal care with dignity and respect
- Ensure according to internal and external standards that dietary requirements are understood, and any food or beverages are provided appropriately and carefully.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proficient communication and organizational sills
- Attendance/Punctuality are essential. Absences are scheduled and reported
- Listens well to peers and supervisor
- Able to follow instructions, teachable, and eager to learn
- Adhere to HIPPA guidelines, confidentiality, and client rules in community
- Able to provide skill-based intervention for clients
- Attend supervision sessions at least 1 hour monthly provided by a staff Qualified Professional.
Education and Experience: Must be twenty-one (21) years of age. BS degree from an accredited university or college or an Associate Degree in a related field. One (1) year of experience working with client population: or High School Diploma and three (3) years’ working with client population.
Certifications, Requirements, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid NC Driver’s License and maintain acceptable driving record.
Must successfully complete all phases of pre=service and on-going training, including, by not limited to physical restraint training, First Aid, CPR, CPI Crisis, and medication administration (if applicable).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
