What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Duty Equipment Technician position at Quality Carriers?
Quality Carriers is a leading bulk liquid chemical carrier in North America, with over 100 terminals and facilities across the continent.
We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join our team. This role requires strong knowledge of diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, as well as experience with tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, and company policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in a similar role and possess a high school diploma or equivalent vocational school training. They will also be proficient in using welding equipment and able to identify parts and supplies as needed.
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing tractors and trailers, performing annual inspections, and ensuring equipment meets Federal FHWA standards. You will also operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and shop as needed.
