Heavy Duty Mechanic - Trailer and Tractor Repair Specialist

We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. This individual will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing tractors and trailers, as well as performing routine inspections to ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex issues with tractors and trailers
• Perform annual, systematic 90-day, and HM-183 inspections on equipment
• Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and shop
• Order and receive parts and supplies as needed
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all established safety policies and procedures

This position requires strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment theory, principles, and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Experience with vehicle diagnostic software is also essential.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in repair and service of trailers and medium-duty trucks
• Demonstrated knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, and company policies and procedures
• Able to use vehicle diagnostic software and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
