- Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers.
- Perform annual/systematic 90 day inspections (trailers) on equipment as required.
- Ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards.
- Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and the shop as needed.
- Order and receive parts and supplies as needed.
- Adheres to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous waste.
- Clean, organize and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
- Using welding equipment.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Able to learn and demonstrate vehicle and equipment theory, principles and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Able to learn and demonstrate tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures.
- R-Stamp Certified (Able to weld 2G, 3G, 4G and other welding needs on equipment)
- Required (High school diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent vocational school preferred)
- Experience diagnosing and repairing tractors and trailers.
- Experience with TIG welding.
- Dynamic, ambitious and engaged team player.
