Job Title: Childcare Director
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Child Care Director to lead our Early Childhood Center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with state licensing regulations, and creating a nurturing and educational environment for children. This leadership role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to providing high-quality childcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the childcare center, including staff management, curriculum implementation, and facility maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all state licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Recruit, train, and supervise teachers and staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programs and activities that promote child development.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with parents, addressing concerns and providing regular updates on their child's progress.
- Manage the center’s budget, including financial planning, payroll, and expense tracking.
- Develop and execute marketing and enrollment strategies to maintain optimal attendance.
- Handle conflict resolution and ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all children and staff
Qualifications:
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older, and provide documentation of one (1) of the following educational levels:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university. (“related field” shall be determined by the Executive Director and DHS)
- Bachelor’s Degree in a non-related field from a regionally accredited college or university, plus one (1) of the following: Four (4) years of experience in early childhood education Child Development Associate Credential (CDA), or Birth – Pre-K Credential.
- Associate degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field, plus six (6) years of experience in Early Childhood Education
- Eight (8) years of experience in Early Childhood Education and completion of one (1) of the following, within two (2) years of employment: Child Development Associate Credential; Birth – Pre-K Credential; Director’s Credential or the equivalent; or Technical Certificate in Early Childhood Education.
- Strong knowledge of state childcare licensing requirements and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
