Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Custodian to oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in custodial services, including commercial cleaning and facilities maintenance. This role is essential in ensuring that our environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for all staff and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of custodial staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Perform regular inspections of the premises to identify areas needing attention or repairs.
- Oversee floor care activities such as buffing, stripping, and waxing, carpet cleaning, to ensure surfaces are well-maintained.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; order replacements as necessary.
- Provide training and guidance to custodial staff on proper cleaning techniques and safety protocols.
- Must be available to take care of emergency work within 2 hours of receiving notificatio.
- Implement effective cleaning schedules that align with facility usage to minimize disruption.
Requirements
- Proven experience in custodial or facilities maintenance roles, with a focus on commercial cleaning.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with custodial work, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques such as buffing and maintenance of various flooring types.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Experience in residential painting or porter duties is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication skills to effectively lead a team and interact with facility users.
