Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Progressive Care Nurse to join our healthcare team for a 13 week assignment.
This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care for individuals requiring intermediate-level care. The Progressive Care Nurse will work closely with patients who have complex medical needs, ensuring their safety and comfort while promoting recovery. This position requires a strong foundation in nursing practices, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care setting.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including vital signs and overall health status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including Botulinum toxin treatment when necessary.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and assist with case management for patients requiring specialized care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about health management, including ostomy care and basic life support techniques.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and infection control measures within the hospital environment.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Current nursing license with experience in internal medicine or progressive care nursing preferred.
- Familiarity with workers' compensation law as it pertains to patient care is a plus.
- Experience in travel nursing is advantageous but not required.
- Proficiency in performing procedures such as dialysis is desirable.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Basic life support certification is required; advanced certifications are a plus.
