What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Assembly Technician position at Quality Electrical Systems?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Assembly Technician to oversee and participate in the assembly of Misson Critical Electrical Switchgear. This is a “Working Lead” position that will require 80% direct labor to product as well as lead duties outlined below. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, keen attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the assembly team to ensure production goals are met.
- Assemble, test, and inspect components and finished products according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Train and mentor assembly technicians to improve efficiency and quality.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues, collaborating with engineering and quality control teams as needed.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control measures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assembly processes and production output.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives to optimize
workflow and efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical assembly skills.
- Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective leadership, communication, and teambuilding skills.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous
improvement methodologies are a plus.
