What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler Supervisor position at Quality Electrical Systems?

We’re looking for a Material Handler Supervisor to lead our dynamic warehouse team and ensure seamless material flow across production, engineering, and beyond. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supervise and train the materials handling team to efficiently
pull correct parts and quantities to meet production and departmental needs.
- Monitor and improve team performance, ensuring inventory transactions are accurate and completed on time.
- Ensure all team members are properly trained in part labeling,
inventory returns, forklift operation, and dispatch request handling.
- Audit daily 5S logs and support a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Manage incoming/outgoing lanes to ensure timely and accurate material flow.
- Perform quarterly employee evaluations and oversee team timecard accuracy.
- Act as a key point of support for the Materials Manager and collaborate across departments to drive continuous improvement.
- Report any OSHA or safety concerns promptly and proactively.
- Pitch in on other related tasks as needed—we’re a teamfirst
kind of place.
What You Bring to the Table:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or materials handling role.
- Strong understanding of inventory processes and material flow within a production environment.
- Detailoriented with the ability to train, motivate, and lead a team effectively.
- Computer literacy including Excel, Word, inventory databases, and labeling systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Forklift certification and the ability to train others.
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regular standing, sitting, bending, and use of hands for writing and computer input.
- Exposure to noise and occasional chemical vapors.
- Visual acuity, color perception, and peripheral vision required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three months or more of previous warehouse or material handling experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production support
environment.
