Based out of Lake City, FL, QEP is looking for an experienced Field Service Technician/Diesel Mechanic to join our Service Team. The tech will travel to customers' locations to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair customer equipment. Applicants must have experience with heavy equipment repair so they can determine the parts and tools necessary for repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagnostics, along with following through with repairs.
- Inspect and perform needed preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues with diesel engines. Perform work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Account for all time in company systems and for all material used in performing assigned duties.
- Advise customers on equipment.
- Work well with and around others.
- Perform other maintenance related work as assigned.
Qualifications
- Three years of previous heavy equipment experience is a must.
- Own your own tools. Be fully self-sufficient while on jobsite.
- Excellent mechanical abilities, with a detailed understanding of the engine, power train, hydraulics, as well as the ability to read electrical schematics on all electrical systems. Employees will receive training on manufacturer-specific procedures.
- Welding experience is required.
- ASE certification, a plus
- Class A CDL, a plus.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
