Our team of experienced professionals is seeking a Pest Control Technician who exhibits a genuine passion for protecting people and pets from pests. This position involves performing pest control activities in residential and commercial buildings, conducting routine inspections of infested areas, completing pest control treatments, maintaining all equipment and creating preventative solutions to minimize the need for future treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain neat and organized work area.
- Identify pest problems and recommend treatments to customers.
- Complete requested pest control treatments
- Document complaints, treatments, and follow-up reports.
- Answer customers' questions.
- Use pest control chemicals safely and follow all safety instructions.
Requirements:
There are some requirements you’ll have to have to join our Q.E. team as a Pest Control Technician.
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills and the ability to use a cell phone and apps are a must.
- Some basic math skills — add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. You’ll need to be able to follow instructions for mixing on product labels.
- With the help of Quality Exterminators, you’ll need to maintain the licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations. If you do not hold a pest control technician license Quality Exterminators of GA will assist you with study materials and cover the cost of the testing fee.
- A valid state issued driver's license is required.
Physical Requirements:
- You will be moving, pushing, pulling, carrying items/equipment weighing at least 10lbs. up to 20 lbs. frequently.
- You will move around a lot — regularly sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. You must be able to go up and down stairs, ladders and ramps. And you’ll need to be able to keep your balance when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces.
- You must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and make sure it and all other equipment is kept clean.
- Being able to SEE the pests is crucial. You must be able to see at distances close to the eyes or within arm’s reach.
- There will occasionally be the need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), like an OSHA-compliant respirator. You’ll also need to be okay with regularly working in confined spaces, narrow aisles, passageways, and crawlspaces.
- We do work outside so you must be able to tolerate the heat, cold, rain and wind.
