Responsibilities
- Install and configure alarm systems, including fire alarms and security systems, according to established guidelines.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and troubleshoot issues with alarm systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize power tools and equipment safely while performing installations and repairs.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their needs and provide recommendations for system design.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and repairs performed.
- Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) regulations during all installations.
- Provide field service support as needed, responding promptly to service requests.
- Assist in fire alarm sales by demonstrating system capabilities and benefits to potential customers.
- Utilize CAD software for system design when necessary.
Skills
- Proficient in using power tools and equipment related to alarm system installation.
- Strong understanding of system design principles for alarm systems.
- Experience in field service roles, particularly within the security or fire alarm industry.
- Familiarity with voltmeters and other diagnostic tools for troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Knowledge of CAD software for designing alarm system layouts is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge related to alarm systems and their components is essential.
- Experience with fire alarms, including installation and maintenance practices.
- Understanding of NEC regulations as they pertain to electrical installations.
- Background in fire sprinkler fitting is advantageous but not required.
