Job Overview: A Plumbing Installer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances. This role requires a solid understanding of plumbing codes, safety regulations, and installation techniques to ensure systems function effectively and efficiently in residential, commercial, or industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install Plumbing Systems: Install pipes, fittings, and fixtures (e.g., sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters) in new construction or remodeling projects according to blueprints and plumbing codes.
  • Connect Plumbing Systems: Ensure proper connections for water supply lines, waste lines, and gas lines, as well as sewer and drain systems.
  • Test Systems: Conduct system tests to ensure plumbing installations are leak-free and function properly.
  • Inspect and Maintain Systems: Perform inspections of plumbing systems to identify issues, recommend improvements, and make necessary repairs.
  • Read Blueprints and Schematics: Interpret plumbing blueprints, schematics, and drawings to determine placement and installation needs.
  • Collaborate with Other Trades: Work alongside electricians, contractors, and other trades to ensure systems are installed according to project specifications and safety standards.
  • Ensure Compliance: Follow all local plumbing codes, safety standards, and regulations to ensure installations are up to code.
  • Install Water Filtration and Heating Systems: Install and set up water filtration, water heater systems, and other specialized plumbing systems.
  • Troubleshoot Issues: Diagnose and address any issues with installed plumbing, including leaks, pressure problems, or drainage issues.
  • Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients to address any concerns, answer questions, and explain system operations or maintenance needs.
  • Maintain Tools and Equipment: Keep tools and equipment in good working conditions and ensure they are used safely on the job.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven Plumbing Experience: Several years of experience in plumbing installation or relevant work in residential/commercial plumbing projects.
  • Knowledge of Plumbing Codes: Solid understanding of local plumbing codes, safety standards, and building regulations.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Strong ability to handle and repair plumbing equipment and systems.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately interpret blueprints and schematics, ensuring precise installations.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to work long hours in physically demanding environments, including lifting and bending.
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong communication skills to interact with clients and provide excellent customer service.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly and effectively.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • Completion of Plumbing Apprenticeship Program (preferred).
  • Journeyman Plumbing License (or equivalent, depending on local regulations) (preferred).
  • Experience: 2-5 years of plumbing installation experience, depending on the complexity of the role.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in various environments, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • May involve working in tight spaces, heights, and under various weather conditions.
  • Use of heavy equipment and tools, requiring adherence to safety standards.
  • Occasional overtime or weekend work may be necessary to meet project deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
