What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential HVAC / Oil Technician position at Quality Home Heating?
We are looking for a Residential HVAC Technician to join our team! You will install, service, and repair heating and air conditioning systems.
Experience with oil necessary due to our service area. Must have burner license or be willing to obtain. We service the East Bridgewater Ma surrounding area to the New Bedford, MA surrounding area. (job posting location is mid point of service loaction)

Primary Responsibilities:
- Service and maintenance of heating systems, including:
- Oil, gas, and heat pump systems
- Diagnosing and repairing no-heat and efficiency issues
- Performing annual cleanings and tune-ups on furnaces, boilers, and water heaters
- Service and maintenance of air conditioning systems, including:
- Troubleshooting and repairing cooling systems
- Ensuring systems operate efficiently and reliably
- Providing excellent customer service and educating customers about system care and upgrades
- Completing necessary paperwork and billing promptly and accurately
Occasional Responsibilities (15-20%):
- Assisting with installation of heating and cooling systems, including furnaces, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and air conditioners
- Installing water heaters and oil tanks when needed
Licenses and Certifications:
- Massachusetts Oil Burner Technician License required (company can assist in obtaining this certification for the right experience person)
- EPA 608 Certification required (company can assist in obtaining this certification for the right experience person)
- Other industry related licensing a plus
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HVAC service and maintenance
- Need to be experienced and capable of being along in a truck after a week of orientation.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for oil, gas, heat pump, and air conditioning systems
- Experience using guages, multimeters, gas anyalizers, etc are a must.
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Must be able to be insurabl
- Ability to pass a drug/alcohol screening
- 4 Panel only, not testing for THC.
