Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to oversee and enhance our safety programs across various construction sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health regulations, managing risk, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. This role requires strong knowledge of workers' compensation, environmental health and safety (EHS) practices, and construction management software.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards on construction sites.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure compliance with safety standards during all phases of construction.
- Provide training and support to employees on safety practices, risk management, and emergency response procedures.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and coordinate with insurance providers as necessary.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in occupational health regulations and industry best practices.
- Prepare reports on safety performance metrics for management review.
- Facilitate communication between management and employees regarding safety concerns.
Qualifications
- degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a safety management role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and compliance management.
- Familiarity with construction management software is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively train staff at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills for assessing risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Certification in EHS or related fields is highly desirable.
- Ability to build relationships across departments to foster a culture of safety.
