Position Summary:
The Hotel Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the hotel's facility, including the guest rooms, public areas, and all equipment therein. This individual addresses repair and maintenance needs to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Routine Maintenance:
- Perform preventive maintenance duties on equipment and rooms.
- Repair fixtures, furniture, equipment, and structural components in guest rooms and public areas as needed.
- Paint and touch up areas as required.
Systems and Equipment:
- Address any issues with the hotel's HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system to ensure a comfortable environment.
- Maintain swimming pools, and related equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness.
Safety and Security:
- Regularly inspect areas for safety hazards and rectify them promptly.
- Ensure that fire safety equipment is functional, and participate in fire safety drills.
- Report any potential security breaches or suspicious activities.
Grounds Keeping:
- Maintain the hotel's exterior, including landscaping, parking lots, and pathways.
- Remove debris and trash from public areas.
Communication:
- Coordinate with the front desk and housekeeping about specific guest requests or issues.
- Report to management about any major maintenance needs and repairs.
Inventory:
- Track maintenance inventory and equipment.
- Request necessary tools or supplies and manage inventory within budget constraints.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in a related field is a plus.
Previous maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or similar environment.
Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment safely.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Physically capable of lifting heavy items and working in different conditions (e.g., outdoors, tight spaces)lighting your relevant experience and qualifications.
