What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at Quality Living Care?
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement individualized care plans and behavior support plans
- Promote independence and community integration for individuals
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and resident progress
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure their dignity and privacy are respected
Requirements:
- Experience or training in medication administration
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Knowledge of systems and resources for individuals with disabilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with residents, families, and staff members
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is preferred
