Assistant Director of Residential Services
QMA is in the process of increasing the residential services team. We are seeking candidates with experience and those who are interested in shaping an efficient and knowledgeable workforce for a shifting market.
Our Assistant Director of Residential Services works with the residential team to supervise site managers and direct care personnel involved in the administration and delivery of all residential services. They assure that residential services are in compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local regulations, laws, and ordinances as well as Medicaid, waiver and State-contracted standards (as described by the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities. Essentially, the Assistant Director ensures that our residential sites operate within the provisions of QMA’s mission, values and its articles of incorporation.
Responsibilities and Duties
This includes the direct supervision of QMA’s Residential Site Managers. The Assistant Director reviews and tracks scheduling trends, including residential staff/agency staff overtime and Vacation time. They assist in the supervision of the management of house budgets, program costs, etc. He or she completes site inspections, monitor individuals’ plan documents using an electronic health record and completes performance data collection systems.
The Assistant Director works with the Human Resources department by actively participating in the recruitment and hiring of residential direct care and management staff. He or she assists in the development of direct care and management employee training plans. The Assistant Director also assists in the completion of disciplinary actions, unusual incidents and investigations. He or she works with the clinical, medical, development and CQI departments in order to provide coordinated, comprehensive service to the people we support. The Assistant Director advocates for and teaches the individuals QMA serves to advocate for themselves. He or she assists in the initiation, development and implementation of major projects and represents QMA externally as required maintain appropriate external networks. He or she maintains knowledge of industry trends and best practices and facilitate positive and productive communication across departments.
Qualifications and Skills
The Assistant Director of Residential Services Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of a four-year college degree and three (3) years experience working in the DD/ID field or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook, powerpoint), electronic HR/training tracking systems, Therap, Government/State agency electronic resources, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other standard office machines.
- The ability to communicate effectively with staff and consumers (and their families) as well as administrative staff and funders.
- A normal range of hearing and vision, in order to provide proper support to the program members and employers with whom they will be interacting.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Be twenty-one years of age or older.
- A clear criminal history check.
- Will not have been convicted of forgery, embezzlement obtaining money under false pretenses, extortion, criminal conspiracy to defraud, crimes against & the person or other like offense(s).
- A complete physical including a Mantoux test(s).
- Ability to work flexible/non-fixed hours.
- Excel in developing standards, fostering teamwork, managing proficiency, promoting process improvement, building relationships, and organizational astuteness.
- Understand the importance of ethical conduct, communications proficiency and people skills.
