General Summary (Job Objective):
Basic electronic assembly workmanship in accordance with established internal and industry standards. Production facilitation to ensure electronic assemblies are manufactured in accordance with customer supplied documentation and internally generated processes. Activity coordination and specific task direction guided by Quality Assurance Manager and higher level inspectors in conjunction with engineering and production. Observe and record inspection data. Final inspection emphasis on relatively low-density, low-magnification, assemblies. May perform in-process inspection at direction of higher level inspectors. Primary responsibility for basic, repetitive, low intensity assemblies and/or subassemblies.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Knowledge application of industry standard inspection criteria (IPC-A-610 & J-STD-001)
2) Identify electronic package types and values for both through-hole and SMT technology with assistance
3) Perform In-Process inspections as required to facilitate product flow
4) Identity & record defects in accordance with established SPC program
5) Increase continuous improvement through the timely feedback of discrepant conditions
6) Ability to work additional hours beyond standard schedule to satisfy customer requirements
7) Capability to interface between different inspector levels to clarify defect conditions
8) Retain 3rd party IPC-A-610 certification
Job Specifications:
1) Ability to inspect through a range of 1x - 8X magnification for extended periods
2) Reading and reasoning skills to properly interpret quality industry standards
3) Basic computer application skills and data entry
4) Flexibility to adapt to changing customer expectations
5) Reasoning skills to identify and suggest improvements to avoid defects
6) Provide assistance in quality areas other than FQA (x-ray, receiving inspection, etc. )
Additional Information:
ITAR conformance requires employees are US citizens or valid green card holders.
The Level I Inspector is an introductory position with little or not previous experience. Although still supervised directly by the Quality Manager, primary responsibility and focus may be directed by upper level inspectors.
