Job Summary: We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Marine & Powersports Parts and Accessories Counter Salesperson to join our team. This role is responsible for assisting customers in finding and purchasing the right parts and accessories for their boats, ATVs and UTVs, and personal watercraft (jet skis). The ideal candidate has a strong background in marine and powersports equipment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing top-notch customer service. A positive attitude, commitment to strong teamwork, and active involvement in the local area boating and powersports community are essential to success in this role.
Customer Service & Sales:
- Greet and assist customers in selecting parts and accessories that fit their specific needs.
- Provide expert recommendations based on unit specifications, manufacturer guidelines, and customer preferences.
- Process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Handle customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
Parts & Inventory Management:
- Maintain knowledge of inventory, pricing, and promotions for all parts and accessories.
- Look up and source parts using manufacturer catalogs and electronic databases.
- Stock, organize, and manage parts displays to ensure a clean and professional showroom.
- Assist in receiving, labeling, and storing incoming parts and supplies.
- Monitor stock levels and assist in placing orders for restocking as needed.
Technical Knowledge & Assistance:
- Identify and suggest compatible parts for a variety of marine and powersports units.
- Understand the function and application of different parts and accessories.
- Assist customers with basic troubleshooting and installation guidance.
- Stay up to date on new products, technology, and industry trends.
Operational Duties:
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at the counter and in the showroom.
- Work collaboratively with service technicians and other team members to fulfill work orders and special requests.
- Assist in setting up promotional displays and merchandising efforts.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Prior experience in marine, powersports, or automotive parts sales is preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of parts, accessories, and maintenance for boats, ATVs, UTVs and personal watercraft.
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of customers.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with manufacturer catalogs, point-of-sale systems, and basic computer applications.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs., stand for extended periods, and move within the showroom and stock areas.
- Work Ethic: Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Flexibility: Willing to work Saturdays, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
