Summary: Performs and assesses ultrasounds to assist in the diagnosis of disease, works effectively with patients and families, and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for ultrasound/sonographic examinations, including two-dimensional, Doppler, and M-mode.*
- Responsible for patient preparation, including obtaining vital signs and recording on charts.*
- Responsible for patient relations, including providing information to patient's family members.*
- Responsible for liaison communication between patients, physicians, and supervisor.*
- Responsible for clinical/technical area supplies.*
- Responsible for EKG examinations.*
- Travels to any area as needed.*
- Responsible for the inspection and maintenance of all equipment and the company vehicle.*
- Attends at least one-half of staff meetings.
- Takes calls according to monthly schedule.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A. S.) or equivalent in Sonography/Ultrasound from two-year college or technical school; and less than one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Current BCLS certification
- Current CPR certification
- Must complete annual education requirements
- Must maintain regulatory requirements
- Eligible for ARDMS registry within three months of hire
- Valid driver's license
- Must meet insurance underwriting requirements
