What are the responsibilities and job description for the DQSR Quality Inspector position at Quality Name Plate Inc.?
The DSQR quality inspector conducts receiving, in-process and final product inspections, and documents results in various reports/logs in the quality system database. This key individual will inspect to ensure compliance to drawing, specifications, customer and QNP requirements. Aid in manufacturing to ensure quality product is being produced; Communicate and document findings of any non-conforming product. This position may also interface with Customers, Suppliers and/or Regulatory agencies as appropriate.
Job Duties:
- Reads and interprets materials, such as shop orders, inspection manuals, and blueprints, to determine inspection and test procedures.
- Monitor or observe operations to ensure that they meet production standards
- Perform AS9102 First Article Inspections and completes all associated documentation
- Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods
- Able to make independent decisions regarding product acceptability.
- Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error; determining levels of confidence.
- Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
- Participates in Relentless Root Cause Analysis
- Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities;
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Performs source inspections as required by customers and completes all associated documentation
Education and Experience:
- Must be AS1300 I (Delegated Product Release Verification) certified
- Experience with UTC requirements is preferred.
- Proficient in AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) reports.
- 4. 5 years of Aerospace quality inspection while using a CMM or similar and performing plate inspections.
- Must be able to read and interpret Blue Prints
- Understand, interpret, and apply GD&T Methodology
- Have familiarity and utilize tooling such as, Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators, Optical Comparators, etc
- Understand and apply Gage R&R methodology
- Must be able to interpret Military/Industrial/Federal Specifications.
- Geometry, General Math and problem solving skills
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Able to work independently
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
