Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our team. Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide direct support to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, ensuring their emotional and physical well-being.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing various therapeutic approaches including art therapy and addiction counseling.
- Implement behavior management techniques to help clients develop coping strategies and improve their social skills.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and any incidents that occur during sessions.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to create a supportive network for clients.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in counseling.
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation techniques and addiction counseling practices is highly desirable.
- Skills in behavior management strategies are essential for success in this role.
- Experience in providing direct support services is a plus.
- Knowledge of art therapy techniques or Christian counseling approaches is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective documentation and collaboration with clients and their families.
