Overview
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with various machinery and possess a strong mechanical aptitude.
Responsible to set-up, operate, and maintain machinery in a manufacturing setting. Ensure machines produce high quality products, efficiently and at capacity. Machinery and equipment including but not limited to; shrink wrapper, flow wrapper, conveying systems, code daters, stretch wrappers, and balers (where applicable) by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to. Other duties may be assigned.
- Preparing Machines: Cleaning, calibrating, and preparing machines for production.
- Operating machines: Following production instructions (product technical standards, centerlines, etc.) while collaborating with production team to minimize downtime and improve machine efficiency. Operate and monitor to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintaining machines: Inspecting machines for safety and efficiency; performing preventive and corrective maintenance. Diagnose and replace faulty parts, wiring, or controls.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and repairing electrical and mechanical issues; including prox sensors, VFD (Variable Frequency Drives), and photo eyes.
- Quality control: Verifying output meets quality standards.
- Safety: Adhering to health and safety protocols and procedures. Ensure machinery is functioning according to safety and operational standards.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain detailed maintenance logs and documentation.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Strong understanding of prox sensors, VFD drives, photo eyes, and other electrical components.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, including gears, bearings, and motors.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Basic understanding of PLC systems is a plus.
Education and/or Experience
- Certificate from college, technical school, or other program with emphasis in industrial maintenance, industrial electricity or similar field preferred.
- Two years proven experience as a Machine Operator or Maintenance Technician in an industrial setting.
