Job Overview
The Assistant Nurse Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to manage healthcare operations effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff activities to ensure optimal patient care.
- Prepare, manage and adhere to department budget
- Assist the Nurse Manager in maintaining operational aspects of the unit
- Conduct utilization reviews to assess the necessity and efficiency of services provided.
- Utilize electronic health record systems for accurate documentation and patient management.
- Perform triage assessments to prioritize patient care based on urgency.
- Manage occupational health programs, promoting workplace safety and employee wellness.
- Provide guidance on infant care practices and support new parents in the healthcare environment.
- Apply knowledge of physiology to enhance patient education and treatment plans.
Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required, Master's degree preferred
- 5-7 years of NICU or PICU experience, ideally in a leadership capacity
- Active RN license
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Proficiency in Epic or similar EMR software required
