The Construction Safety Administrator is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of safety programs, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, and promoting a culture of safety at construction sites. This role also includes overseeing fleet vehicle management, ensuring proper maintenance and compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining accurate records for the company’s fleet and safety programs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Program Administration:
- Maintain and organize safety documentation, including incident reports, safety audits, and training records.
- Assist in developing and updating safety policies and procedures to meet local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and other applicable safety and fleet standards.
- Fleet Vehicle and Record Management:
- Oversee fleet vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with manufacturer recommendations and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of fleet usage, inspections, and repairs.
- Monitor fleet safety compliance, including driver training, accident reporting, and DOT/FMCSA requirements.
- Track vehicle registrations, insurance, and renewal deadlines.
- Coordinate with supervisors and drivers to address vehicle issues and maintain operational readiness.
- Site Safety Support:
- Conduct site visits to observe and ensure adherence to safety practices.
- Assist in performing job hazard analyses (JHAs) and pre-task plans (PTPs).
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and incident investigations.
- Training and Education:
- Coordinate and track safety and fleet-related training for employees, including onboarding, certifications, and refresher courses.
- Maintain training schedules and ensure employees receive required certifications such as CPR, First Aid, OSHA, and defensive driving courses.
- Assist in developing and distributing training materials in multiple languages if necessary.
- Incident Management and Reporting:
- Assist with incident investigations, documenting findings, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Prepare and submit required safety and fleet reports to management and regulatory agencies.
- Monitor and analyze safety and fleet data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Compliance Monitoring:
- Ensure that all required safety signage, PPE, and equipment are available and properly used at construction sites.
- Conduct inspections of equipment, tools, and fleet vehicles to verify compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with company and regulatory safety and fleet standards.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Serve as a liaison between the safety and operations teams to ensure consistent communication about safety and fleet updates.
- Respond to employee and supervisor safety or fleet inquiries in a timely and effective manner.
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- 2 years of experience in construction safety or a related field.
- Experience in fleet vehicle management and recordkeeping is required.
- Familiarity with construction operations, safety protocols, and DOT/FMCSA regulations.
- Certifications:
- CPR/First Aid certification required.
- Additional certifications (e.g., CHST, STSC, defensive driving) are a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and construction safety practices.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, particularly in fleet record management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fleet management software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Work is primarily performed in an office setting, in fleet vehicle maintenance areas, and on construction sites.
- May require standing or walking for extended periods, exposure to outdoor elements, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
