Job Summary :
Quality "Plus" Services is in need of Journeyman Electrician with verifiable certification and experience to service the Central Virginia region. Per diem is available depending on the location.
An Industrial Journeyman Electrician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems and equipment in industrial settings such as manufacturing plants, factories, and power plants. This role requires deep knowledge of high-voltage systems, motor controls, automation equipment, and adherence to strict safety standards. The Journeyman works independently or as part of a team, ensuring that electrical systems are functional, safe, and compliant with industrial codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Installation and Maintenance of Industrial Electrical Systems :
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in industrial environments.
- Work on large-scale electrical systems including motors, transformers, generators, switchgear, and circuit breakers.
- Install and maintain control systems, industrial automation, and instrumentation.
2. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics :
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in high-voltage and complex systems, including motor controls, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
3. Electrical System Upgrades and Modifications :
Perform upgrades and modifications to existing electrical systems to meet increased production demands or comply with updated regulations.
4. Preventive Maintenance :
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical systems to prevent downtime or equipment failure.
5. Compliance with Industrial Codes and Safety Standards :
Ensure that all electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, and other relevant industrial codes.
6. Supervision and Training :
Provide guidance to Electrical Apprentices and Helpers, overseeing their work to ensure tasks are performed safely and correctly.
7. Collaboration :
Work closely with other departments such as mechanical, hydraulic, and automation teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with overall operations.
8. Documentation :
Maintain detailed records of electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications :
Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including motor controls, high-voltage systems, PLCs, and VFDs.
