Job Summary
Large commercial structural & site concrete company is seeking to fill the position of Structural Concrete Estimator. The Structural Concrete Estimator analyzes construction drawings/specifications and converts them into a Structural Concrete Proposal for the customer.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents to prepare comprehensive estimates for structural concrete projects.
- Perform Concrete Takeoffs via Planswift to complete and format proposals for clients.
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost breakdowns, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Review proposals with the Director of Preconstruction and make adjustments as needed based on business climate.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to clarify project scope and resolve any issues.
- Provide value engineering solutions to clients and project teams when necessary.
- Utilize the XLS proposal model to calculate Gross Margin %.
- Works with the Preconstruction Team to solicit and follow-up with status of bid proposals.
- Maintain orderly records of previous proposals and supporting documentation
Competencies & Minimum Qualifications
- Concrete Estimating Experience: 2 Years
- Experience with Construction Takeoff Software: 2 Years
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Software. Emphasis on MS Excel.
- Self-directing, self-starter to identify and meet customer deadlines and incorporate Business Owner requests.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent Initiative and Follow-Through to drive issues to completion.
- Good oral and written communication skills to interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Good collaboration and interpersonal skills to work with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Leadership to identify and systematize process improvement opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Construction Management or related field of study.
- Sample Estimate Request: As part of the interview process, candidates will be asked to provide a sample estimate based on a hypothetical or past project scenario. The estimate should demonstrate your ability to accurately calculate and detail material, labor, and subcontractor costs, as well as any other relevant components. This sample can be submitted at or prior to the interview and will be a key factor in our evaluation process.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
