We are looking for a professional with a deep understanding of rough carpentry techniques, materials, and costs associated with commercial buildings. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in estimating and strong project management capabilities to ensure successful project execution from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities :
Estimating :
Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for rough carpentry work based on project plans, specifications, and site visits.
Analyze blueprints, drawings, and other documentation to determine materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather competitive bids and negotiate pricing.
Utilize estimating software and tools to streamline the estimation process and ensure accuracy.
Project Management :
Manage and oversee multiple commercial rough carpentry projects concurrently, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating activities.
Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and other contractors, to provide updates and address concerns.
Budgeting and Cost Control :
Monitor project budgets and financial performance, tracking expenses, and identifying areas for cost savings.
Review and approve invoices and change orders, ensuring accuracy and alignment with contract terms.
Team Leadership :
Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Mentor and coach junior staff members, promoting professional development and skill enhancement.
Quality Assurance :
Implement quality assurance and control measures to uphold high standards of workmanship and ensure deliverables meet client expectations.
Address any quality issues promptly, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Proven experience as an Estimator and / or Project Manager in commercial rough carpentry, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of rough carpentry methods, materials, and building codes.
Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., AutoCAD , Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, onscreen take off, Quick bid) and MS Office Suite.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
