Mill Technician II – Nights
Position Summary:
As a Mill Technician II, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our soybean milling equipment that produces high quality feed grade soybean meal in our Safe Feed/Safe Food Certified facility. As a self-motivated, safety-minded, reliable team member with a strong mechanical aptitude, your primary duties will include monitoring equipment operation, conducting basic to intermediate troubleshooting, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). You are knowledgeable and well-trained to test product quality, load and unload bulk tanker trucks and hopper bottoms, and maintain accurate production records. This mid-level position offers an opportunity to enhance your skills in feed processing and continually advance your strong mechanical abilities and commitment to safety and team collaboration. This role requires a higher level of responsibility, including advanced knowledge and experience with troubleshooting minor to more complex issues, performing preventative and minor maintenance interventions, and leading various projects.

Work Schedule:
- Nights: 6:00 pm to 6:00 am
Salary:
- $23.00/hour (includes $1.00/hour night shift premium)

Essential Job Functions:
- Operate and monitor advanced milling equipment independently
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on milling machines to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic operational issues without direct supervision
- Conduct detailed quality tests on soybeans and finished products to maintain product standards
- Load and unload bulk truckloads of soybeans and finished products, ensuring accuracy and safety
- Assist in training Mill Technician I employees and new team members
- Participate in safety audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain designated sanitary schedule and a safe work environment to Quality Roasting standards
- Complete the necessary paperwork required in the record keeping of production
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices based on our Feed Safety Programs
- Perform other tasks, as assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1-3 years of milling/manufacturing experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge and ability to perform preventative and minor maintenance intervention
- Experience working in and contributing to a strong team environment
- Reliable team member with a strong focus on quality and safety
- Proven ability to handle more complex tasks independently
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Dependable and self-motivated
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to frequently bend, squat, climb, sit, stand, walk, handle objects, reach above shoulder level, use fine finger movements and push/pull, carry/lift light to heavy loads up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally kneel
