Position Summary:
We are seeking an individual who has a vision, passion, and knowledge in the Cannabis Industry. The General Manager will undertake the responsibility for the development and implementation of our newest dispensaries' retail activities and be responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the retail space including staff, customer service, and sales merchandising. The General Manager works with upper management to ensure that the facility's compliance and regulation are consistent with local and state requirements. The General Manager also supports local marketing, promotions, and maintenance of daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to upper management.
Qualifications:
The General Manager must be organized and professional with the expectation to be outgoing and enthused while working in tandem with several departments such as Retail Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, Compliance Operations, and Purchasing teams.
The ideal candidate will work on developing, inspiring, and guiding their team to carry out the Quality Roots mission while also maintaining a high standard of communication with vendors, customers, and surrounding communities. Your unique abilities will utilize in-store management initiatives to the support store staff and Management needs for the below-described items.
Job Responsibilities:
- Direct and coach staff on a regular basis to ensure the dispensary's excellence in sales & service.
- Carry out all assigned operational, sales, and retail tasks put forth by the company.
- Protect company assets and minimize loss by ensuring all store standards and operating procedures are met, including workplace safety, inventory control, and loss prevention.
- Fulfill staffing needs and coordinate scheduling.
- Manage and inspire internal staff to deliver the highest level of customer service.
- Oversee online orders and curbside (if applicable) operations to ensure orders are being fulfilled by designated employees.
- Forecast and adjust payroll to maximize productivity, achieve sales & payroll goals, and complete workload.
- Manages and motivates staff (including hiring, terminating, performance management, and recognition duties.
- Handling customer returns and discount codes.
- Utilize reporting tools available on POS systems to motivate employees to push sales and promotions.
- Effectively resolve escalated customer issues and drive repeat business.
- Identify underperforming metrics and develop strategies that leverage company programs, tools, and resources to improve and grow the business.
- Promote a culture of teamwork by working alongside the management team, establishing priorities, and providing clear direction.
- Direct and communicate goals and duties with Assistant Managers.
- Maintain a strong, professional, and communicative relationship with corporate staff.
- Other duties may be assigned, as needed or warranted, by upper management.
Skills:
- Google Suite including Sheets and Gmail
- POS/Cash-handling system experience required
- METRC, FlowHub, Dutchie, or other cannabis seed-to-sale experience highly preferred
- Inventory control experience is preferred
- Leadership and interpersonal skills
- Efficiency with technology and point-of-sale systems
- Strong math skills, proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Basic knowledge of the cannabis plant and its effect on the endocannabinoid system, or the ability to learn.
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years old
- Valid driver's license with reliable access to transportation and the ability to travel within the state of Michigan
- Cannabis industry experience, preferred
- Managerial experience 5 years, preferred
- Retail experience 2 years, preferred
- Full-time availability (40-45 hours per week, flexible schedule)
- Evening and weekend availability required
- Must feel comfortable addressing and engaging with the public
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Must be able to work at a computer or on a tablet for an extended period of time
- Capable of sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, bending or walking throughout the workday
- Ability to push, pull or lift up to 40 lbs
- Proper employment documentation required for I9

Compensation:
- Salary, starting at $50,000/yearly
