To support continued growth, we are seeking a Field Service Technician to work in the Reno, Nevada area. This position is responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, installing and calibrating electronic and mechanical weighing equipment, at customer locations.
In this role, we anticipate you staying out-of-town 1 night per week. Sometime we ask you to go out of town for 4-5 consecutive days. The company pays for hotels and food.
You will be on-call every other week. When you are on call you must be able to respond to after hours and/or weekend emergencies within 20 minutes and be ready to work within 1 hour.
You need a Class A or B CDL for a Manual Transmission to start.
No experience with weighing equipment? No problem! If you are mechanically inclined, enjoy troubleshooting and solving problems, have a willingness to learn and possess a positive attitude, we can provide training specific to the scale industry.
Who You Are:
- Mechanically and/or electrically inclined
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or with a small team
- High-School Diploma or GED
- AA Degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance or repair (preferred)
- Minimum of 1-2 years of directly related work experience with maintenance/repair of mechanical or electrical systems
- Class A or B license for a manual transmission truck
- Ability to read, write and understand the English language
- Ability to use computers (PC/Windows/Microsoft Office)
- Physically strong, with the ability to lift 50 pound weights above your head - frequent kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing/ pulling
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all types of industrial businesses with exposure to hot, cold, dirty and confined space environments
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance
- Comfortable with variable hours and occasional weekends
- Clean Background and Driving Record
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
What You Will Do:
- Perform scale system preventative maintenance, installations and repairs
- Load equipment, tools, parts and PPE needed for execution of scale services
- Operate a manual transmission "test truck" that carries our testing equipment and has a knuckle boom.
- Assist with maintaining, stowing and cleaning equipment, vehicles and tools
- Follow company and customer safety guidelines
- Maintain communication with Field Service Technician co-workers
- Complete all job related documentation
- Carry out overtime, on-call and out-of-town duties as required
Salary:
- $26-$27/hour
