Grounds Worker

Quality Staffing, Inc., also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search, a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the area's top companies, is seeking experienced Grounds Workers to work through our agency as a contract employee with the State of Tennessee School for the Deaf (TN TSD) located in Knoxville, TN. This is an on-site position working from 8 : 00 am to 4 : 00 pm Monday through Friday for a total of 37.5 hours per week. The pay rate for this position is $13.00 per hour. Grounds Worker Job Description : Responsible for maintaining campus grounds, walkways, and roads to provide a clean and safe place for students, staff, and visitors. Assists others in the operations division and facilities department as directed. This is a working-class position which reports to the grounds crew leader under the supervision of the facilities manager. An employee in this position performs lawn care and landscaping services across the entire campus. Grounds Worker Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include : -Cutting grass and doing non-detailed trimming of trees and shrubs.-Removing debris (natural or man-made) to improve campus appearance and to maintain campus safety.-Operating trimmers, leaf blowers, mowers, tractors, and other equipment, both motorized and non-motorized.-Performing building maintenance work and custodial tasks as required by supervisor.-Maintaining campus safety by removing snow and ice from roads and walkways and other safety measures.-Performing basic routine maintenance on grounds equipment and other small engine equipment on campus.-Operating various state-owned vehicles both on and off campus.-Maintaining simple records and making routine reports to supervisor.-Following safety protocols and using personal protective equipment as necessary.
