This is a 2nd shift position working from 5 : 00 pm to 5 : 30 am on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. The pay rate for this position is $17.00 per hour. Unarmed Security Guard Job Description : The Tennessee School for the Blind is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our students, staff, and campus. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for our visually impaired students. Unarmed Security Guard Key Responsibilities will include : -Monitoring and patrolling the school premises, including buildings, grounds, and parking areas, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.-Responding to alarms and investigating disturbances.-Providing assistance and direction to visitors, ensuring they follow school protocols.-Maintaining a visible presence to deter potential security threats.-Assisting in emergency situations, including evacuations and medical emergencies.-Reporting any suspicious activities or security breaches to the appropriate authorities.-Conducting regular inspections of security systems, including surveillance cameras and alarm systems.-Collaborating with school staff to develop and implement security policies and procedures.-Maintaining accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations. Education and Qualifications Needed for Unarmed Security Guard position : -High school diploma or equivalent.-Previous experience in security or law enforcement is preferred.-A valid armed / unarmed security license.-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.-Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.-Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.-Physical fitness and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods.-A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.-Ability to pass a background check.
