What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baggage Handling System Encoder / Jam Runner at Armstrong Airport position at Quality Support Services?
We are seeking a dedicated Baggage Handling System Encoder / Jam Runner to join our client's team at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.
This is a physically demanding position which requires on-the-job security training and the ability to receive all applicable airport security badges.
Responsibilities include :
- Lifting luggage bags and placing them on and off of a conveyor belt.
- Loading luggage carts when necessary.
- Taking luggage bags back and forth to and from designated areas.
- Unjamming the baggage system as needed.
- Encode "misread" baggage and getting it to its correct location.
- Take directions from Supervisors and Dispatchers and follow Airline directions for irregular operations.
- Report any issues found that could potentially lead to additional system failures.
- Must always be ready to help customers as needed.
- Some light cleaning / maintenance duties involved.
- Other duties as assigned.

Pay rate is $18.56 per hour. Up to 40 hours per week (schedule may vary).
