What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Baggage Handling System Control Room Operator - Armstrong International Airport position at Quality Support Services?
Currently hiring a part-time Baggage Handling System (BHS) Control Room Operator. The position is at Armstrong International Airport. Pay rate is $18.56 per hour. The schedule is two OVERNIGHT shifts per week, for a total of 16 hours per week.
The role of the BHS Control Room Operator is to constantly monitor the status of the maintained systems and alert Jam Runners, Technicians and the Contract Manager when situations occur that need their attention. The BHS Control Room Operator shall have a good understanding of the physical system layout and associated controls functionality in order to efficiently manage the baggage flow during the daily operation through the BHS and direct the response staff to incidents.
The BHS Control Room Operator may also support the Contract Manager in preparing reports and trending analysis if this does not interfere with the primary duty of system monitoring.
Required duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor the conveyor line baggage flow balancing
- Monitor laser array statistics
- Monitor statistical reports
- Monitor/set make-up assignments
- Obtain, edit, and load flight schedules
- Respond to operation inquiries, complaints, and issues
- Make BHS operational decisions
- Interface directly with the user airlines, airport, NOACO, and the TSA
- Ensure smooth daily startups by reviewing startup checklists and procedures
- Assume the responsibility and staffing of the BHS Control Room and the monitoring of the BHS via the BHS Management Information System and Maintenance Diagnostics System during the system's operational period.
Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum Two years experience in a role with similar size and complexity of systems.
MUST BE ABLE TO PASS TSA BACKGROUND CHECK AND ONGOING DRUG SCREENING.
