This role is crucial in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals through effective therapeutic interventions and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of individualized care plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to patients, focusing on improving their daily living skills and overall functionality.
- Document patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members, including nurses and medical imaging professionals, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and strategies for enhancing independence.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols within the clinic or skilled nursing facility.
- Support patients in acute care settings by assisting with mobility and daily activities as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience in a clinical or skilled nursing facility setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and care plans is highly desirable.
- Experience in home health or occupational health environments is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
