Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality care to patients in various settings, including clinics, inpatient facilities, and home health environments. This role is crucial in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals through effective therapeutic interventions and support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of individualized care plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to patients, focusing on improving their daily living skills and overall functionality.
  • Document patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members, including nurses and medical imaging professionals, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and strategies for enhancing independence.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols within the clinic or skilled nursing facility.
  • Support patients in acute care settings by assisting with mobility and daily activities as needed.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a clinical or skilled nursing facility setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and care plans is highly desirable.
  • Experience in home health or occupational health environments is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
  • A commitment to providing compassionate care and supporting patients' rehabilitation journeys.
