Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Tow Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting vehicles and providing roadside assistance to customers in need. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong understanding of vehicle operation, and the ability to handle various types of towing equipment. The Tow Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the integrity of the vehicles being transported.
Duties
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed, roll-off, and dump trucks, to transport vehicles safely.
- Respond promptly to calls for roadside assistance, including jump-starts, tire changes, and lockout services.
- Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment while ensuring minimal damage.
- Conduct routine inspections of towing equipment to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and vehicle condition before and after towing.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding service status and estimated arrival times.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols while driving on various routes.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred.
- Experience in route driving and familiarity with local roadways.
- Knowledge of operating various types of tow trucks, including flatbeds, tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, tankers, and forklifts is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as required.
