Instructional Designer Technical Training

The ideal candidate for the Instructional Designer Technical Training position will learn to anticipate, develop, and implement innovative solutions for our customers training challenges who often have tight budgets. The scope of work includesthe full range of ADDIE / Systematic Approach to training activities, with a heavy emphasis on analysis, design and development work. The Instructional Designer also will become proficient in our proprietary training management software, the Quality Training Database (QTD), and use our applications to deliver products and services to our clients across the US and Canada.
Essential Duties and Requirements
Working virtually or in person with a team to complete project tasks, assuring quality of deliverables, and tracking timeWorking independently while understanding the necessity of communicating and coordinating work efforts with team membersWorking remotely / virtually / in person with client subject matter experts to collect data for job analysis, training needs, performance requirements, operating procedures, technical systems, processes, and other related informationOrganizing data and entry into our flagship software program, Quality Training DatabaseAbility to work virtually from a home office or other professional environment free from auditory or visual distractions; location may be anywhere within the continental United States near a national airport. Routine travel to client sites will be required.Full-time 40-hour work week with occasional after hours or weekend scheduled Work hours for this position are based on Central time zone regular business hours : 8am-5pm Central Time, Monday through FridaySalary Range : $60K to $80Kplus excellent health, dental, vision, life, short-term and long-term disability insuranceMinimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
A bachelors degree in Industrial Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Engineering, Instructional Design, Technical Writing, or related field. A masters degree is preferredThree to seven years of experiencein training analysis, design, and / or development work, including experience with designing training courses and / or programs to meet client needs; experience with technical writing or procedure writing a plusConduct job task analysis to establish job tasks as well as required skills and knowledge needed qualify for a positionDevelop training materials including lesson plans, on-the-job training guides, tests, performance assessments, consistent with the principles of adult learning theory and instructional design theoryLeverage eLearning tools and technologies (e.g. Articulate, Captivate) to develop and enhance training materialsAbility to analyze and logically organize complex technical information, and transform complex bodies of information into professionally designed, engaging and effective trainingAbility to work well in a team environment or individually on projectsAbility to apply discretion and trust with confidential materialAbility to effectively apply analytical and problem-solving skillsCan work independently, self-directed with excellent time managing skills with the ability to multi- task and meet deadlines, shifting to meet client needs when requiredHigh attention to detailProficient with all Microsoft Office applicationsremote work
