What are the responsibilities and job description for the Non-Emergency Medical Transport Driver - Wheelchair Only position at Quality Transport Services of Arizona (QTS)?
The driver is responsible for transporting clients from one place to another for medical appointments, work, errands, school, or other reasons. This position may collect fares from passengers, communicate with passengers and ensure passengers arrive safely at their destination.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
This position is responsible for operating an assigned vehicle to transport ambulatory, wheelchair, and stretcher passengers to various appointments, outings, hospitals, and healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safety and well-being of his or her passenger for the duration of the transport.
- Maintain compliance with all policies, protocols and operating procedures
- Drive in a safe and responsible manner
- Project a professional image and attitude
- Attend to and assist all passengers in and out of the pickup/drop-off points, the transport vehicle, and with any personal items and equipment they may have
- Practice safe lifting and moving techniques; ensuring you are both physically and mentally fit for this safety sensitive position
- Adhere to field associate dress code and personal appearance policies
- Assume responsibility for the cleanliness and maintenance of your assigned vehicle
- Perform other related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of seven (7) years driving experience, prior experience as a Non-Emergency Medical Driver is preferred but not required
- Candidate must possess a valid drivers license, a clean driving record
- Candidate must successfully pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen and must complete a medical fitness-for-duty clearance
