Job Summary:
The Purchasing Agent/Warranty CSR is responsible for sourcing and procuring parts, managing vendor relationships, and handling warranty claims for a heavy-duty truck upfitter. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing, timely availability of components, and efficient processing of warranty claims to support operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement and warranty administration within the heavy-duty truck or upfitting industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate, and procure parts and components for heavy-duty truck upfitting operations.
- Obtain and evaluate quotes from multiple vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels to prevent shortages and reduce excess stock.
- Process warranty claims, including submission, tracking, and resolution with manufacturers and vendors.
- Work closely with vendors to ensure timely delivery and accurate fulfillment of orders.
- Conduct vendor evaluations to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness specific to the heavy-duty truck upfitting industry.
- Communicate warranty coverage details and claim statuses with customers and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding procurement and warranty processing.
- Maintain detailed records of purchases, warranty claims, and vendor communications.
- Provide customer service support regarding warranty inquiries and parts orders.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in procurement, warranty processing, or a related field within the heavy-duty truck or upfitting industry.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of warranty claim procedures and inventory management best practices.
- Experience with purchasing and warranty management software.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
