What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Team Lead position at Quality Valve?
The Accounting Team Lead will supervise Accounting and Administrative Department staff and provide direction and oversight for department activities. The role will also be primarily responsible for Accounts payable, payroll and inventory maintenance within the accounting system. This position reports to the VP of Finance.
Responsibilities
- Direct supervision, training and performance management of personnel involved in Accounting and Administrative activities including workflow, time management and PTO.
- Work with VP of Finance and Senior Accounting Manager to guide and manage departmental projects
- Support the month end close process, ensuring accuracy of financial statements
- Analyze Accounting / Administrative processes and identifies areas for improvement. Participate in continuous improvement teams
- Perform and manage the Accounts Payable process to include processing of vendor invoices, communicating with vendors on discrepancies, producing check runs, adding new vendors, and set up and maintenance of purchase orders
- Perform weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing including verifying time sheets, updating employee pay data and coordinating the submission of special payrolls
- Coordinate new employee onboarding with VP of Finance
- Receive vendor packing slips, review accuracy and match against vendor invoices; enter inventory into ERP system
- Support physical inventory counts by scheduling counters, processing count sheets, generating reports and entering inventory adjustments as needed
- Set up new inventory items in accounting system and track activity as needed
- Work with procurement team on generating weekly reorder reports
- Collect, file, and retrieve Certificates of Conformance on all parts sold
- Maintain good working relationships with customers, vendors, and benefit providers

Minimum Experience
- At least (5) five years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience required including experience supervising staff
Minimum Education or Formal Training
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred but not required.
