Schedule: Monday- Friday, On-site, 7:30am-4:00pm
Compensation: $28.00-$33.00, based on experience
The Machine Line Planner (Level II) plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely execution of our metrology manufacturing processes. At this level, they oversee the planning function for more complex production areas. They collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop production plans, manage inventory levels, and optimize resource allocation. The Planner’s attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to anticipate production challenges will contribute to the company's success in meeting production targets and customer demand.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
- Leads the implementation and updates of the Master Production Schedule requirements, ensuring accurate and timely execution.
- Collaborates with the Purchasing team to ensure the availability of raw materials and components required for production.
- Monitors production progress and adjusts schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand or unforeseen production issues.
- Works closely with the Operations team to allocate resources effectively and ensure that production targets are met.
- Manages bill of material responsibilities based on inputs from Engineering Change Notices.
- Communicates and addresses all issues that arise in their assigned production areas including but not limited to issues with the bill of materials, engineering, sales, or shortages.
- Ensures timely communication and coordination with the Sales team to meet sales order requirements.
- Timely sign-off of completed machines and ensures all material and line items are included.
- Identify potential production bottlenecks and develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure smooth operations.
- Analyzes production data to identify trends, optimize production processes, and makes recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Maintains accurate records of production activities, inventory levels, and other relevant data.
- Uses Microsoft Excel and Word programs to create reports that outline the status of work within your area of responsibility.
- Communicates production status, delays, and potential issues to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with the Quality team to ensure that all products meet the company's high-quality standards.
- Stays up to date with industry trends and best practices in production planning and metrology manufacturing.
- Develops a comprehensive understanding of the business system, including order entry, inventory management, job orders, purchasing, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and related accounting functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in production planning, supply chain, or related roles.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) concepts and tools.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Physical and/or Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to move around the manufacturing facility, including walking through different production areas and shop floors.
- Comfortable with standing, walking, and occasionally traversing stairs or uneven surfaces.
- Ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, and phones for extended periods.
- Clear vision to read and interpret data, production schedules, and reports.
- Ability to distinguish between different colors, labels, and markings.
- Adequate hearing to communicate with colleagues, team members, and operators in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to varying temperatures within the manufacturing facility, which may include controlled environments and areas with machinery-generated heat.
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels from manufacturing equipment and machinery.
