Location: Rochester, NY , On-SIte
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am -4:00pm
Compensation: $20.00-$25.00 based on experience
The Outgoing Product Technician performs detailed quality inspections, verifications, and calibrations on metrology equipment to identify nonconformities. They communicate product deficiencies and improvement suggestions to internal departments, maintaining a balance of efficiency and quality through a detail-oriented and process-driven approach.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Under general supervision, inspects, verifies and calibrates metrology equipment.
· Communicate with other internal departments to relay product deficiencies and suggestions to engineering, manufacturing, and marketing for constant product improvement.
· Learn and adapt to new products and technologies as required to effectively complete testing and calibrating.
· Learns new testing processes for new technologies, based on technical input from engineering staff, and specifications from the product-marketing group.
Requirements
· 2-year college degree in a technical or quality related discipline required, or equivalent industrial experience.
· Experience with coordinate measurement systems and metrology software is preferred.
· Experience in working with optics, mechanical systems, and automated devices is preferred.
· Ability to work within a fast-paced, deadline driven, multi-discipline environment.
· Skilled at working effectively with many departments and personality types.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows environment and the Microsoft Office suite.
· Experience with quality reliability concepts.
Physical and/or Environmental Requirements:
· Ability to sit for extended periods of time (8-hour shift) in an office setting, utilizing standard office equipment (computer, keyboard, computer mouse, phone, etc.)
· Ability to stand and navigate throughout the workplace and manufacturing areas when conducting inspections or interacting with other teams.
· Ability to independently lift and carry equipment or materials between 20-50 pounds.
