Position Title: Biochar Sales Executive

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 base salary with commission available

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

The Biochar Sales Executive will play an important role in helping to acquire new customers, generating revenue, and delivering on the brand promise of the company. The portfolio consists of biochar sales into agricultural markets, horticulture/greenhouse (potting mix) biochar markets, and filtration/remediation markets that utilize biochar. This position will also include participating in the sales of Qualterra’s biomass processing units and overall biochar market development activities.

Aggressively pursues new customers for biochar and biomass processing units across the above-mentioned biochar markets:

· Discover, inherit, qualify, and pursue leads through cold calling, networking, or other lead generation methods to establish contact and secure meetings with customers who are qualified and would benefit from our products and services

· Deliver a contract and close the deal as quickly and efficiently as possible

· Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Marketing to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products and services

Minimum Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, soil science, agronomy, agriculture, or plant and soil science

· 5 years sales in soil-based products, greenhouse product sales, crop consulting and/or biochar production/sales

Preferred Experience & Skills:

· Master’s degree in Horticulture, Soilo science or Agronomy

· Agricultural, greenhouse, horticulture, and/or soil filtration/remediation sales experience with a history of success selling to commercial growers, distributors, soil amendment suppliers, crop consultants, greenhouse operations, and other potential biochar customers in the USA with emphasis on the West Coast.

· Demonstrated possession of an existing network of agricultural growers, distributors, commercial composters, soil amendment suppliers, crop consultancies, and other appropriate potential biochar customers, in the agriculture, horticulture fields, and/or remediation/filtration fields.

· The ability to establish productive business relationships quickly and efficiently

· Deep knowledge of the challenges and opportunities within the biochar production and biomass processing markets – particularly as they pertain to agriculture, horticulture, and soil filtration/remediation.

· Strong work ethic and sense of urgency to find and close the deal

· The ability to build relationships and communicate effectively

· The ability to lead the charge for sales, yet collaborate internally to provide the best customer experience

· Ability to present to customers and industry in-person and/or via remote video (zoom)

· Strong communication skills verbal and written

· Ability to multi-task and handle multiple leads, accounts, and other facets of a hectic, fast-paced work environment

· Self-directed and independent worker

· Competencies in MS Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

· Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Location: This is a remote role and focused on the agriculture market in primarily in Western United States. This person will need to be Central/Eastern Washington. This position will have extensive local, regional, and national travel on a regular basis.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
