The B.E.S.S.T (Believe Every Student Succeeds Today) program is well supported at QMS. It is composed of two teachers, a dedicated Adjustment Counselor, and multiple paraprofessionals. Each teacher has their own classroom. Additionally, there is regular consultation provided with a behavior specialist and clinical psychologist
Responsibilities include:
•Serve as the special education liaison for an assigned caseload of approximately 9 students
•Teach small group academic skills courses
•Implement program supports developed in conjunction with ABA and Clinical Psychologist consultants
•Support students in the inclusion setting
•Participate in, and at times, chair, team meetings
•Write and amend IEPs as necessary
•Attend planning meetings as assigned
•Maintain student confidentiality
•Teach students needing social and emotional support
•Collaborate with support staff such as School Adjustment Counselor/Social Worker, School Psychologist, Teachers, and Paraprofessionals
