UX Design Technologist

This role is essential for evolving and scaling our UX tools, processes, and methodologies, ensuring that we not only meet current product needs but also anticipate future demands in a rapidly evolving design and technology landscape.
By integrating a user-centered and technology-informed approach, the Principal Design Technologist will play a crucial role in creating intuitive, efficient, and engaging UX tools and best practices that empower our product design teams across Qualtrics. This includes leveraging and improving the design system as a key component of our tooling strategy.
This position fosters a collaborative environment where design technologists work closely with designers, engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders, facilitating innovative solutions that reflect our commitment to teamwork and shared goals.
This role will directly influence the efficiency and scalability of our product development by enhancing and expanding our UX tooling, thereby improving our competitive edge in the Experience Management category. As part of a nimble, high-functioning team, the Principal Design Technologist will have the opportunity to take strategic risks, learn from challenges, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within Qualtrics.
How You'll Find Success
- Develop a long-term UX-tooling strategy that anticipates user needs, design trends, and technological advancements over the next 1-2 years, fostering innovative and sustainable solutions.
- Actively engage with designers, engineers, and product teams to gather insights and feedback, using this information to identify UX team process and tooling gaps, opportunities for improvement, and areas for expansion that enhance overall product quality and developer experience.
- Bridge the gap between design and engineering by collaborating closely with front-end engineers to explore new interaction paradigms and fluid design possibilities. Identify areas where current technologies may be limiting our design vision and work together to find innovative solutions, accelerating the adoption of new technologies and patterns.
- Leverage new insights and AI to drive maximum UX tool usage and efficiency across all platforms, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and performance. This includes optimizing the design system to be a core component of this efficiency.

For full-time positions, this pay range is for base per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be included in an employment offer, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and other benefits, based on eligibility criteria.
