What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASSEMBLY position at Qualtronics?
PURPOSE OF JOB:
Use various assembly techniques to build and test low to medium complexity harnesses. Techniques may include: termination, wire and cable preparation, population, assembly, electronic testing and covering. May utilize buildboards or assembly aids to assemble and test.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assemble wire harnesses of low to medium complexity in accordance with production documentation and quality standards
- Assemble wire harnesses using an assembly aid or buildboard in accordance with production documentation and quality standards
- Test assembled harnesses to ensure harnesses are in accordance with customer requirements and production standards
- Cover, label, terminate and perform other assembly techniques in accordance with production documentation and quality standards
- Control equipment, tools, materials and documentation in an appropriate manner
- Detect and report equipment malfunctions promptly to management
- Use tools and equipment properly to minimize downtime and tool breakage
- Complete production documentation in accordance with production standards
- Notify management of material defects promptly
- Follow established company policies and procedures
- Adhere to ISO requirements related to the job area
- Perform other duties reasonably related to the position
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Read and understand sentences and paragraphs in work related documents written in English
- Speak and write effectively to convey information to others
- Able to US Customary Units and Metric Units of measure on a measuring tape
- Use mathematics to solve problems and understand work related information
- Keep job documents/materials properly identified and organized
- Able to meet customer and company quality and timeline requirements
- Work with general supervision and guidance
- Cooperate with coworkers and management
- Able to grasp new concepts and skills easily
- Able to understand and apply mechanical concepts and principles to solve problems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- 20/20 vision with correction
- Must be able to differentiate between red and green colors
- Able to lift 25 – 50 pounds for up to 30 seconds at a time, 3-4 times per day
- Must be able to stand for three (3) hours at a time
- Able to make coordinated hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects
